The Terraway® pathway-construction system has been specially developed for creating robust, porous, water- and air- permeable surfaces that are low in adhesives and capable of accommodating light traffic. The system, which has undergone continual development over the past decades, has proven highly suitable for pedestrian and vehicular traffic in public-access environments. Additional reinforcement is necessary for use with heavy traffic. Typical applications include:

Non-sealed, solid surfaces
A Terraway® surface is created by binding sand-free gravel or grit using the special Terraway® adhesive, a dual-component artificial resin. Mixing takes place as close to the building site as possible, with the mixture applied cold, similar to concrete flooring.
Terraway® is an effective solution for problems that normally arise from sealed surfaces. Given its high porosity, the surface can absorb heavy precipitation and channel it underground. The porosity also promotes evaporation, notably improving the micro-climate in the area of installation.
A Terraway® surface channels precipitation directly into the superstructure where it drains either immediately or gradually, depending on the underlying surface. Drainage is generally improved through installation of a Terraway® surface: either precipitation flows directly into the ground or, in the case of delayed drainage, is channeled into the sewage or runoff system.

Detailed, professional design
Given the high degree of porosity, no incline is required. This eliminates the need for surface drainage systems, thereby opening up numerous visual design possibilities. For technical reasons, break points with gaps of up to seven meters must be installed. Gap patterns can be individually chosen.
Terraway® components can be readily combined with other surfacing materials. We use exclusively natural stone gravel and grit without colorants, meaning that the choice of materials alone determines the color scheme. Various natural stones can be mixed or juxtaposed.
Edges can be constructed using capstones or metal dividers or by beveling the surface. In addition to being water permeable, the Terraway® system also promotes diffusion and can therefore be placed directly next to trees when separated by a division. Runoff system covers can also be integrated directly into the surface.
